A 54 page children’s book project based on themes of cultural and environmental destruction and its subsequent restoration.
The book is aimed at children who are moving on from children’s books and are becoming more interested in reading graphic novels or manga, a previously untargeted demographic. The story is based on the fairy tales from Hans Christian Andersen and on folktales from Eastern Europe. A sacred cerimonial bell deep in the forest of this world stops ringing one day, causing the sun to stop rising. The people of this village send a young priestess, Yulia, deep into the forest to investigate what became of the bell and how to bring back the sun rise.
